Call and submissions

This is the 9th edition of the International Symposium on Computers in Education. SIIE is an annual event that is held alternately in Spain and Portugal. The Symposium is a reference forum and a meeting point for research groups, groups of educational software development, users and institutions of different countries and, particularly, of the Ibero-American space.

SIIE is an international forum for the presentation and debate of the latest advances in the field of Information and Communication Technologies applied to Education. It is a local of collective reflection on challenges, successes and problems of Education for the Knowledge Society.

The Symposium includes, but is not limited the following thematic areas:
- Design, development and evaluation of educational software
- Accessibility and usability
- Ubiquitous computing in education
- Human-computer interaction in educational contexts
- Collaborative systems, communities and learning
- Innovative ICT experiences in education
- ICT Methodologies in educational contexts
- Social aspects of ICT in educational contexts
- Teacher training in Information and Communication Technologies

Structure:

- Invited keynote speakers.
- Paper presentation.
- Posters.

Official languages:

- English.
- Portuguese.
- Spanish.

Paper publication:

Accepted papers will be published in the Symposium Proceedings (CD-ROM with ISBN), that will be distributed to participants.
  • Selected papers
    A small number of accepted papers will be selected by the International Program Committee to be published in a book/CD edited by the Spanish Chapter of the IEEE Education Society in collaboration with the Portuguese and Columbian Chapters. And one of these selected papers will be proposed to be published in IEEE-RITA (http://webs.uvigo.es/cesei/RITA). All selected papers should address within the scope of IEEE-RITA.

All contributions must be sent as MS Word files and follow the official ACM Proceedings Format guidelines.

Submissions must be made electronically in DOC or PDF formats, using the conference management system available in the SIIE 2007 web page from 15th April to 3rd June.

Important dates:

10/06/2007 - Deadline for paper submission
10/07/2007 - Author notification (new deadline)
15/10/2007 - Deadline for registration of authors of accepted papers
14/11/2007 - SIIE 2007 begins

Authors will be notified of acceptance by July, 10th.
Final versions of papers and posters are due by July, 31st.
Acceptance for publication is contingent on complete registration of, at least, one (co-)author by October, 15th.
